Bill Hudson, CEO
Hi! Thanks for visiting our website. I founded FCCA because I believe when family child care is done well, it is, as one sector CEO remarked, “like magic.” I also have a passion for board governance and effective board operations. I’ve spent almost 30 years in various nonprofit leadership positions, and I’ve worked with, for and/or on dozens of nonprofit boards. I understand how important a high impact board is to the performance of an organization, not to mention the sanity of its chief executive!
Before founding FCCA, I served as the Chief Executive Officer for the National Association for Family Child Care. In that role, I was a member of the core task force for the Power to the Profession initiative, sponsored by NAEYC. I also served as a member of the National Academy of Medicine’s Birth to Age 8 Workforce committee, and their Early Care and Education Innovation Collaborative.
I am currently serving on the advisory board for Wonderschool, as well as on the board of directors for the Virginia Family Child Care Alliance and the shared services organization, Infant Toddler Family Day Care.

It's quite simple. Our mission is to help family child care providers become both personally and professionally successful. We accomplish this by working with provider associations and the various organizations and agencies that seek to support and expand high-quality home-based care.
